Carmen Maria Garcia was a determined, independent Spanish woman who valiantly fought for the heated feminist movement in 1930s Spain. The women and Carmen were victorious, winning their equal rights and grasping a new, free future. Being a bright, young woman, Carmen attended a major women's college and studied diligently, easily ranking in the top percentile of her class. Eager to enrich her studies and gather more experience, Carmen obtained a ticket for the great ocean liner ‘Isabel I de Castilla’ to study abroad in the United States. Her possibilities seemed limitless just like the vast ocean that awaited her... until she was murdered by a thug in the slums of Madrid. This thug is Ravi Batouli.

Ravi was born in an extremely poor household in Morocco. In order to escape the severe living conditions in Morocco, Ravi and his family crossed the sea to Spain. The journey was harsh. Most of his family members didn't make it. Some were split away and were never seen again. From then on, Ravi was left alone to survive in this foreign land. Ravi desperately relied on his survival instinct, but he wasn't the only one who was desperate, and it was inevitable for him to witness how nasty and bestial human beings can be in dire situations. Betrayal, robbery, violence, harassment, torture, and in worst cases murder. Tossed and turned by the darkest and selfish of human instinct to survive, Ravi grew an innate disgust towards human nature . In order to survive, he completely abandoned trust and learned to constantly put on a facade, and to never reveal his true intentions. His ruthlessness and quick wits shoved others to the bottom of the food chain while keeping him at the top of the hierarchies in the slums.

It was 1937 when Ravi obtained his ticket to leave the shit hole he was in and to start a new life in the Land of the Free as ‘Carmen Maria Garcia’. But of course, everything didn't go as straightforward as Ravi had hoped; the exact ship he boarded had to sink. He laughed as he confirmed that he and the world shared mutual hate towards each other. However, Ravi still saw opportunity in this sinking ship. A lot of people were going to die, which meant a bunch of free identities were going to be up for grabs: might as well get a more prosperous persona than a female exchange student. Thus before being rescued, Ravi murdered a wealthy man with similar features as him, and took on the new persona as psychiatrist, Zion Ifans. An unfortunate drawback was that he now had to take custody of the man’s child, Espe Ifans.

Now a year later, receiving an invitation to an anniversary gathering for the fellow survivors, Ravi was absolutely disgusted at how rich people spend their sweet time and money for reunions over a sunken ship. He was determined to go to the gathering to make all the survivors wish they hadn’t survived.
